The Raga deep dive courses are aimed at internalising Raga concepts. In this Raga Deep dive course Raga Bhimpalasi is explored. This is a Raga that has its charm on the listeners in the form of a melody soaked in devotion, love and longing when rendered in its pure form. This Raga lends melodic phrases to lighter forms of music and leaves its own impact.

Course Format

12 classes of 45 minutes each.

Objectives

To practise singing the Raga chalan of Bhimpalasi 

To do Swar Sadhana in Raga Bhimpalasi

To create and sing the Swar Vistar in Bhimpalasi

To learn and practise singing the Paltas in Bhimpalasi

To learn a Chhota Khayal with Aalap and Taan in Raga Bhimpalasi

To review the Chhota Khayal already learnt in Bhimpalasi(if any) 

To learn a Bada Khayal in Raga Bhimpalasi

To sing Aalap within the Bada Khayal in the range of all three Saptaks

To sing different Layakari patterns with the Bol of the Bada Khayal

To sing Sargam and Taan in Bada Khayal

The student has completed HV204 at the academy OR the student has learnt Chhota Khayal in about 12 Ragas with Swar Vistar, Aalap and Taan. The student is introduced to Bada Khayal singing  with Aalap.

Demonstrate the Raga chalan of Bhimpalasi

Sing the  Swar Vistar in Bhimpalasi highlighting the characteristics elements of Meend and Khatkas in the Raga with correct voice application

Sing the Paltas in Bhimpalasi fluently

Present the Chhota Khayal in Raga Bhimpalasi with development in Aalap and Taan Vistar 

Present the Bada Khayal in perfect Sur , Taal and expression

Present the Bada Khayal Aalap with essential elements of voice culture

Present Bol Taan, Sargam and Taan with the Bada Khayal
